Nutrition for Kids
Gut health is the foundation of health and well-being, especially for children. If digestion isn’t working properly, every other system in the body is affected. Addressing digestive issues can have a positive impact on various aspects of health, such as mood, immunity, behaviour, and more.
It’s worth noting that everyone’s microbiome is distinct, and Diet is a key modifiable factor influencing the composition of the gut microbiota. However, to improve our children’s health, there are also numerous lifestyle changes we can make. Managing stress and anxiety is crucial, as is getting our kids outside to play in nature and in the sun (vitamin D). Movement and exercise are also imperative for their beneficial bacteria, as is adequate sleep which also essential for our children’s growth. It can be overwhelming to know where to start, but even small changes can yield significant rewards. While we may be unable to eliminate all air pollution or chemicals from our homes, we can focus on what we can change. By prioritising these changes, we can improve our children’s health and well-being.
I created Nutrition for Kids as a practical guide to assist parents in comprehending how to properly nourish their children, eliminate any confusion, and equip them with the necessary tools and knowledge to do so. From Fussy Eaters, to Mindfulness in the kitchen, Key nutrients for growing children, and recipes that help you incorporate them into the diet, this book has a little something for everyone. While this book was written with child nutrition as the focus, a child’s gut microbiome is fairly established and closely resembles that of an adult’s by age 2-3. Therefore, the symptoms and suggestions in this book for optimising a child’s gut may also apply to you as an adult.
And since I’m ridiculously passionate about health education, I’m offering the e-book version of this to you FREE. You can of course purchase the published version, if you prefer flicking and sniffing pages.
