Here's to you, in all your wild complexity
I’ll admit, I’ve never quite subscribed to the idea that women need a single day of recognition. Not when my whole life has been held, shaped, and softened by them.
I was raised in the orbit of strong, wise women, remarkable women.
My mum, my nan, my great aunt, and my aunties, whose presence has felt like strength and safety. That circle hasn’t stopped growing. My sister-in-law, my mother-in-law, the little ladies in my life watching and learning, dear friends, beautiful colleagues, my children’s teachers, and the incredible women I work with every single day.
When you’re held in that kind of company, you don’t need a special date to notice how extraordinary women are. Nor to celebrate our softness, our endurance, and our wild intelligence.
I mean, really, just one day?
We perform small, glorious acts of magic all the time!
Holding families together with an invisible string.
Birthing ideas, businesses, children, whole new lives.
Reinventing ourselves in the middle of chaos.
Showing up with compassion in a world that often rewards hardness.
We are creators of warmth, keepers of stories and the architects of connection.
We carry an ancient knowing in our bones, the ability to nurture, to rebuild, to begin again.
Yes, women are extraordinary, every damn day.
So here’s to you.
The brave ones.
The soft ones.
The fierce ones.
The ones who are still figuring it out.
May we celebrate ourselves a little more often than the calendar suggests.
Honestly… every damn day feels about right.
And rather serendipitously, today also happens to be the day I finally finished typing up the Lavish Lunchbox resource.
I originally began creating this to make life a little easier for the mums who are juggling a hundred moving parts before 9 am, but truthfully, these recipes aren’t just for small people with school bags; they’re a little gift back to you as well.
Simple, nourishing things you can also pack for yourself, enjoy slowly, or steal a quiet moment between the beautiful chaos of the day.
And yes, it’s absolutely FREE.
Because sometimes women make things simply for the love of it. For the sharing. For the absolute pure joy of making someone else’s day a little easier and brighter.
Consider it a small offering from my kitchen to yours.
It’s a humble little PDF, just the recipes, without my usual Canva glam.
But trust me, there are a lot of them, 45 to be exact.
You can use this however you like. If you’ve been following along since Term 1, you’ll know I carve out a day at the start of term to fill my freezer with goodies. We’re now cruising into week 6, and I’m down to my last two containers… not too shabby, right?
But hey, you don’t have to turn into a freezer-filling ninja. Think of this as your new recipe playground: maybe try one or two new dishes each week, or steal a few ideas for giving last night’s dinner a second life.
Oh, and about the brands I sometimes mention: absolutely zero pressure. They’re there for the folks who’d rather not wrestle with ingredient labels or take paracetamol after every grocery shop. I’ve done the homework, so you don’t have to. If labels don’t bother you, then darling, do you!
And, as a complete sidebar, and to wrap up our week exploring the Pranamaya Kosha (the layer of life force/prana ), would ya look at all these foods practically vibrating with energy!
With Love x
